If Pride and Prejudice Were a Kdrama

This book/movie has the perfect set up for a kdrama, I’m honestly surprised they haven’t done it yet.  It was another hard one to cast because there are so many characters, and I still left some out as is.

Synopsis:

Bin Liz Ah is the witty and intelligent understated beauty of the 5 Bin daughters during the Joeson era.  She is not overly interested in marriage and frivolous things like other girls and is more concerned with the betterment of herself and society than flirting and fancy parties.  Her mother however, who is more concerend about money and the family being taken care of has other plans for her and constantly obsesses over finding a good match for her to marry.  One day at a local dance she crosses paths with a very wealthy man from a prominent family by the name of Fitz Dar Si who is handsome, but is standoffish and seemingly arrogant and self-absorbed.  She overhears a conversation between him and his friend in which he remarked that her looks were “barely tolerable” and in that moment decided that she despised him.  Her older sister and the obvious beauty of the family, Jane, falls in love with Mr. Dar Si’s best friend and therefore Liz Ah is forced to cross paths with him time and time again.  She continually uses her wit to show her disdain for his arrogant attitude, and Mr. Dar Si finds himself impressed and intrigued by her indifference to his looks and wealth, her genuine vigor for life and her educated views and opinions. Despite his growing affection for her, Liz Ah resolves to continue to despise him, but as they say there is a thin line between love and hate and despite the interest of another man and their very different social classes the two cannot help being drawn to one another.  Will they throw aside all the odds against them to be together?

If Sailor Moon Were a Kdrama

This would be such a great action kdrama!!  I know it would be a really tough project to take on because it would have to have  a lot of special effects, but man I wish someone would do it!!!  I tried to Koreanfy Usagi’s name a little lol, I remembered that her pet name was Usako.  The outer scouts were older than the rest of the scouts so I tried to pick actresses in their early to mid 30s and then Saturn is supposed to be like an adolescent.  Even though Queen Serentity and Queen Beryl looked pretty young on the show, I always picture them as being a little older, especially since Queen Serenity is Sailor Moon’s mom.  Anyway, hope you enjoy it!! 🙂

Synopsis:

Park Usa Ko is an ordinary teenage girl who is only worried about boys and her friends when one day she is approached by a magical talking cat who tells her that she is the reincarnation of a guardian from the moon, Sailor Moon, and it is time for her to awaken her powers and fight for justice.  Usa Ko and Luna (the talking cat) embark on a journey to find and awaken the other 8 moon guardians in order to fight an impending evil.  When all 8 guardians are gathered, the girls work together to find and defeat Queen Beryl, who is trying to steal the silver crystal to awaken Metallia and establish the Dark Kingdom on earth.  Along the way the girls keep running into a mysterious man who goes by the name of Tuxedo Mask.  Is he a friend or is he a foe?  All the girls know is that he is searching for the silver crystal as well,  but right or wrong Usa Ko cannot help but be drawn to him because something about him seems so familiar.  Is she remembering something from her past?  Queen Beryl senses her connection to Tuxedo mask and plans to use him against Usa Ko for her evil purpose.  Will the guardians be able to defeat Queen Beryl, will Usa Ko and Tuxedo Mask find love or will he be the one to destroy her….

If Buffy the Vampire Slayer Were a Kdrama

I have finished the 30 Day Kdrama Challenge and it is now time for a new series of posts.  I did this with Twilight and it was a lot of fun, so this will be my new series for a while.  Now these take a lot more thought and effort than the 30 Day Kdrama Challenge did, so I may not post them every single day like I was doing before, but I will still be posting general thoughts and drama summary/recommendations so there will most likely be a post pretty much every day.  Now Buffy fans, don’t go all crazy on me lol.  I realize I am combining seasons and switching things around, but this would have to be done in order for it to be condensed into a kdrama.  So don’t take it too seriously and just have a good laugh at it 😛  Also I have a very mixed aged cast, and some of them may seem too old to play the parts I have cast them in.  However, they cast people to play parts older and younger than them all the time (Fun fact: Sarah Michelle Gellar was 20 when she started playing Buffy), that’s what stage make up is for lol.  The guy who was the male lead in Flower Boy Ramyun Shop was like 24 and played a 17 year old, and those of you that are fans of That 70s Show, the only one that was actually a teenager when that show started was Mila Kunis who played Jackie.   They do this a lot of the time because most teenagers are inexperienced and terrible actors lol.  So again, it’s just for comical value, so don’t get upset lol.  Too bad I don’t have a photo editing program and I suck at photo editing anyway, because it would be fun to make a a Bu Fee the Vampire Slayer pic with the fake cast.  Man I wish they would make this drama for real though…

Synopsis:

Summers Bu Fee is a seemingly average high school girl by day and a tough kick ass vampire slayer by night.  Being the chosen one definitely has its perks, but it can be a difficult lonely road.  She gets through each day, taking it in stride with the help of her enthusiastic and nerdy friends Xan Der and Wi Low, and her “Watcher” Gi Les, who doubles as the school librarian by day.  They discover that there is a powerful vampire by the name of Spike who is attacking Seoul with the help of his equally evil and powerful vampire girlfriend Dar La.  In her search for clues of where to find Spike so that she can destroy him, she stumbles upon a mysterious man by the name of Angel, who suspiciously keeps showing up at all of the demon/vampire hang outs that she is raiding.  She thinks at first that Angel is evil, however after getting to know him she finds that he is actually a good vampire who has been cursed with a soul.  He is also searching for a way to find and destroy Spike.  Bu Fee then becomes allies with Angel and begins to fall in love with him despite the advice of her friends to stay away from him.  However, things become complicated when Spike himself becomes mesmerized by Bu Fee and begins to fall in love with her and plots to separate her from Angel by taking away his soul and making him evil again.  Can the star-crossed lovers survive the difficult trials they have to face?

If Twilight Were a Kdrama…

So I was thinking recently, wouldn’t Twilight make a great kdrama?  Of course there would have to be some adjustments to kdramaify it.  When I started thinking of ways it could be altered to fit kdrama world I started cracking up so loudly that my husband was shaking his head at me.  Anyway, here is my idea of Twilight, the kdrama version, and hopefully you guys will laugh with me too 😛

Synopsis:

Swan Be La is the poor daughter of a single dad who has had to work herself to death trying to help her father repay the debt he owes to loan sharks. They move to Forks to get away from the loan sharks that are chasing her father.  In Forks she meets Cullen Ed Ward, the rich son and future CEO of a large corporation that builds hospitals.  Upon their first meeting, they bump into each other in the hallway, knocking all of the books and belongings out of each other’s arms.  Unbeknownst to them at the time, they have accidentally switched cell phones.  The next day they exchange the phones, but only after Ed Ward accuses her of purposefully trying to steal his.  Be La is angry and hurt at Ed Ward’s seemingly unfair accusation. She is unaware however, that secretly Ed Ward really likes her but is pushing her away because he has a dark family secret. Though they try to avoid each other,  fate continues to lead them into situations where they run into each other.  Despite efforts by both parties, they begin to fall in love and Ed Ward toils about how to tell Be La his dark secret.  However, through a series of unexpected events Be La figures it out before Ed Ward can tell her, and shocked, she approaches him and reveals that she knows his secret… that he is in fact a vampire.  Be La decides that she loves him regardless of what he is and she wants to try and make the relationship work, however things become complicated when her friend Je Si Ka contnues to make advances at Ed Ward and plots to ruin Be La because of her bitter jealousy over her relationship with Ed Ward.  The son of an old family friend of Be La’s father, Ja Kob also begins to try to steal Be La away from Ed Ward.  As if this weren’t enough,  Ed Ward’s mother also does not approve of their relationship because she thinks that it will put him and their vampire family in danger of being revealed.  Will their love be able to withstand the trials of being an immortal and an immortal, Je Si Ka and Ja Kob’s bitter plotting, and Ed Ward’s mother’s disapproval?  Only time will tell…
