The King 2 Hearts-Tear Jearker!! (Spoiler Alert)

What???  Did Si Kyeong really have to die?  Man, this is making me upset.  They broke up the bromance between him and the king and now the princess will be all lonely.  God this drama is amazing but I am so broken hearted about this.  Tugging at the heart strings… *sob* Well on a lighter note, I have been searching for an actor for  Angel in my Buffy the Vampire Slayer fake kdrama cast, and I think the actor who plays Si Kyeong, Jo Jung Sook, is it!! It just dawned on me and I think he’s perfect.  Definitely has brooding down to an art lol.  Only 1 more episode of The King 2 Hearts to go!!

Day 23 of 30 Day Kdrama Challenge

Day 23 of the 30 Day Kdrama Challenge is “Who is the best couple?”  Obviously, if you know me at all you know I am going to pick Yoon Eun Hye as Go Eun Chan and Gong Yoo as Choi Han Kyul in Coffee Prince.  This is one of the aspects of this drama that really sucks you in.  Both Yoon Eun Hye and Gong Yoo are so amazing at acting that you really feel like they are utterly and totally in love with each other.  It is also a cute combination because they definitely do not look like a couple you would expect.  They have the whole rich eligible bachelor with poor girl thing that so often happens in kdramas, however, Go Eun Chan is not just a poor girl, she looks like a boy and is okay with that because it’s who she is, and she is one of the most incredibly quirky characters I have ever seen on a drama.  So here you have this rich incredibly handsome guy who could have anyone, and he falls in love with this young eccentric girl who looks like a boy and personality wise fits right in with the boys as well.  And not only is he in love with her, he is so in love with her that he decides to be with her even though he thinks she is a boy and he will have to admit to himself and the world that he is gay.  I mean, how lucky is she that he loves her that much?  Their interaction is so freaking amazing in this drama.  The cute playfulness, the passionate fights and make ups.  They hands down have the hottest most steamy kisses of any drama (What is it about YEH?  She has a lot of really hot kisses in dramas.  I think actors just go crazy over her lol).  Anyway, I could go on forever, but if you haven’t seen it, just take my word for it that this couple is dynamite and stands out from most of the rest of couples in kdramas.  WATCH COFFEE PRINCE IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN IT!!!!

Day 22 of 30 Day Kdrama Challenge

Day 22 of the 30 Day Kdrama Challenge is “Who do you think is the worst actress?”  I really hate questions like this because I can’t stand people who are always trolling on other people on the internet.  I also just dislike putting someone else down when I know I most likely could not do any better, but for the sake of the challenge I will go ahead and answer and explain myself with the disclaimer that I am not an expert and I do not have any personal hard feelings towards this person, just was not a fan of them in the dramas I saw them in.  Okay, so anyway my choice for worst actress is Seo Woo.  I saw her in “Tamra Island” and “Cinderella’s Sister” (which neither are dramas I particularly cared for) and was not at all impressed in either.  She makes weird faces and I feel like all she can do well is whine and cry, everything else she did was not convincing to me.  She also has an unusually whiny voice, which grates on my nerves.  (See, don’t I sound like I’m trolling?)  I honestly thought watching her was going to make me insane in Cinderella’s Sister.  So there you have it, I apologize to Seo Woo (I’m sure you are a really nice person!!) and Seo Woo fans if this is offensive lol.

Day 21 of 30 Day Kdrama Challenge

Day 21 of the 30 Day Kdrama Challenge is “Who do you think is the best actress?”  Those of you that follow my blog I’m sure have already guessed exactly what I am about to say, hands down for me it is Yoon Eun Hye.  I first fell in love with Yoon Eun Hye while watching Coffee Prince.  Her portrayal of Go Eun Chan made her one of the most lovable characters of all time.  She is very good at playing the tough smart ass, however she really has played a variety of roles.  I watched both of her movies (Legend of 7 Cutter, and My Black Mini Dress) and all of her dramas (Goong, Coffee Prince, The Vineyard Man, Take Care of the Young Lady aka My Fair Lady aka Lady Castle, and Lie to Me) and she was amazing in all of them!!  She is very passionate and at the risk of sounding cheesy and ridiculous, I will say she just somehow reaches into your heart and tugs at it and makes you really feel her characters.  She is just a sheer massive presence on screen and off screen.  I have also recently been watching her on the old variety show X-Man (Thanks Jen for pointing that out!!) and you get to see her just playing herself, and she is absolutely wonderful!!  She is incredibly intelligent, witty, funny, and one tough cookie.  It appears she never lost at wrestling on that show, even to men much bigger than her.  It is interesting because she started her career as a singer in Baby VOX, but then blossomed into a big time actress, model, and spokesperson.  However, she never received formal schooling for any of it until now (she is currently in school).  She is purely raw talent.  Yoon Eun Hye is a force to be reckoned with, and I would not mind being her for a day ha ha.  I read that she was recently offered a role in a big time movie that has a famous director and famous actors across Asia in it.  She would have been playing the lead female role opposite Chow Yun Fat, however she turned the role down, I guess because she is currently concentrating on getting her masters degree in film.  I have to say I was disappointed because movies with Chow Yun Fat always get really popular in the U.S. and it really would have exposed her to the U.S. and boosted her popularity majorly over here, but she always thinks everything through carefully and never does things without a reason, so I’m sure she thought this through as well.  Anyway, obviously I have love affair with her (not in a lesbian way, though if I was a lesbian she’d be at the top of my list ha ha) and I cannot wait to see more projects with her in the future 🙂

With short hair after filming Coffee Prince, she can pull of any look I swear!!

Idea for new series of posts, “If _______ Were a Kdrama”

So I only have 10 more days left until I am done with the 30 Day Kdrama Challenge.  After that I will still comment on dramas I am currently watching and add summaries/recommendations of dramas I have finished, but I wanted to have another series of posts on a theme.  People seemed to like my “If Twilight Were a Kdrama” post, so I was thinking of turning it into a series and taking more famous movies/books/graphic novels and kdramafying them for fun and giggles.  What do you guys think?

Day 20 of 30 Day Kdrama Challenge

Day 20 of the 30 Day Kdrama Challenge is “Who do you think is the worst actor?”  Well, this is really hard for me, because as I said, I do not speak Korean and cannot hear their pronunciation and inflection.   Most of the guys I have seen in kdramas have been at least descent actors (at least that I’ve perceived).  So I’ve decided to kind of cheat and go with every English speaking actor I have ever seen on a kdrama.  Where do they dig these people up?  They must pay very little and be very desperate for actors because all of the American/European English speaking actors are terrible lol.  I am watching The King 2 Hearts right now and it is killing me :P.  I watched “Tamra Island”  (which was a stupid drama with an annoying lead actress lol) and it had this white actor on there as the male second lead and he was supposed to be British but he was obviously like German or Dutch or something based on his terrible version of a British accent lol.  He was also generally just a bad actor, but somewhat better than most of the other white actors I’ve seen.  Anyway, so there you have it,  that’s all I could think of lol.

Big Episode 8-It’s Finally Happening!!

All I can say about this episode is FINALLY!!  Episode 8 was extremely eventful!!  “Yoon Jae” and Da Ran have gotten married (which is super crazy to me, I mean at least let the guy wake up and have a choice lol), they have pretty much laid it out for us that Kyung Joon is in fact Yoon Jae’s brother,  their father is finally about to show up on the scene, and they are evidently beginning to switch back.  Now things will really get interesting, hold on tight for the ride!!!  I really hope that next week some of our burning questions about Yoon Jae will be answered.  In the mean time I will be holding my breath in anticipation!!
